Top Reasons You Pay Too Much for Auto Insurance

My new clients ask me all the time if they are paying too much for their auto insurance. It’s honestly a fear for all of us because how things are rated is such a mystery to us! 

So let me try to take some of the mystery away and give you the top reasons you might be paying too much for your Auto Insurance! 

Answer: 

1. Have you been with your insurance carrier for over 5 years? 

In my experience, when people stay with their insurance carrier for long periods of time… they think they have the best rates… but not always! Things in the industry change all the time. You definitely should get an Insurance Review every year. 


2. You are paying for coverage you don’t need. 

Life changes! The value of your cars change. Your financial stability changes. The drivers in your family could change? Maybe you can afford a higher deductible now or you don’t really need collision coverage on an older car… 


3. Claims! Lots of Claims!  

Honestly, if you’re costing the insurance companies lots of money… they are going to charge you more to insure you. It’s sad, but it’s true. So you have a couple of options… 1) drive safer and 2) add a “diminishing deductible” and “accident forgiveness” to your policies, so soon you won’t be paying so much! 


Bottom Line… Ask me, your insurance broker, and I’ll do an Insurance Review every year and always check to make sure you are getting the best rates!
