Is $1,000 a Lot or a Little? | How to Insurance | 037

Hi, I’m Peter!

Welcome to HOW TO INSURANCE

Helping YOU understand insurance,

building CONFIDENCE for your future!

Today, we are talking about...

Is $1,000 a Lot or a Little?

If someone gives you $1,000 cash...

That’s a lot!

You can save that or buy something. Pretty nice.

However, If someone is injured on your property and needs medical attention… only $1000 on your homeowner’s insurance is way too little!

Medical bills are expensive.

Going to the Emergency Room, getting surgery, getting prescription drugs and following up with physical therapy is not a little expense. It’s far more than $1,000.

If you have a homeowners or renters policy and you look at the “medial expenses” line item, what does it say.

Why Medical Coverage on Homeowners Policies?

You need this coverage in case someone would hurt themselves at your place, fall and trip, break a bone, or get seriously injured because of something at your property.

Sadly, I see that past insurance agents have only put $1,000 on for medical expenses, while at the same time giving you a $1,000 deductible.

Wait? What?!?

You mean that if someone got hurt on my property, I’d have to pay a $1,000 deductible to get a $1,000 payout for their medical expenses.

Yep. Bad deal huh.

Question:

Is $1,000 a Lot or a Little… when it comes to medical payments.

Answer:

It’s way too little for a homeowner/renter’s policy

So what is your NEXT STEP

  1. Call your insurance broker

  2. Change your policy.

  3. Add at least $5,000 up to $25,000 medical expenses to your homeowners/renters policy.

The good news is that you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how little the extra cost will be!

Now, you can actually sleep well at night, with confidence, knowing that you’re properly insured in case someone gets injured on your property!
